Remove Invasives Partnership (RIP) of Frankfort and Frankfort Parks Department invites the public to attend a workshop about invasive pest plants at East Frankfort Park on Saturday, March 2 from 9-11:30am.
Invasive plants can kill trees and other native vegetation and create unattractive, inaccessible surroundings. Residents can promote habitat for birds and pollinators by learning how to remove invasive plants.
Participants will be identifying problem plants, learning effective removal techniques, and working to clear an area of woods with abundant spring wildflowers in a section of East Frankfort Park.
Meet at the back parking lot at the start of the disc golf course.
Participants should come dressed for the weather and prepared to work.
Kids activities and refreshments provided. Families welcome! Preregistration is encouraged. Visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/neighborhood-workshop-on-pest-plants-east-frankfort-park-tickets-54651666606
